A girls night out can be a blur of excitement but here’s an outfit idea that will make it unforgettable!
Play It Cool
I spent most of my early 20s staying in and avoiding a social life. But now that I’m nearing 27, I relish in getting dressed up and going out with friends!
It took me awhile to find my place in a small town as I don’t drink. I’ve now found out that I can still participate in pub trivia & karaoke nights, my local library has taken initiatives to host awesome adult only programs, and of course nothing beats playing board games with friends at their house!
For this girls night out outfit, I chose to focus on what I might wear hanging out at a bar. Hopefully this inspires your own going out outfit when it’s negative degrees outside!

Beyond The Jeans + Tee Formula
This outfit is for someone looking for something beyond the jeans + tee formula. If that’s your style, go for it!
But I find it more fun to get dressed up to go out if you’re normally the kind of person who stays home all the time. Putting on a dress + jacket helps trigger my brain into knowing I’m leaving the house and it’s not time to work. (Unless I’m working on having a good time. 😉)
Crushing It
My look started with this blue velvet dress that was gifted from eShakti last month. Nothing says crushing it like crushing it like wearing crushed velvet, right?
It’s In The Details
I previously wore this dress for Christmas-y events so I wanted to find a way to make it edgier. A moto jacket from thredUP, thrifted oil slick purse, and these killer booties were just the thing I needed.
You might also notice the shape of this dress is different than it previously was. I simply used a belt at my waistline and then pulled some of the fabric up to creator a shorter hemline. It’s like instantly getting a new dress!

Now that you’ve seen my outfit, can one of my friends invite me out so I can wear it? LOL
