If you’re taking a road trip this summer, why not do it with some flair?

The only thing I love more than a good Sasquatch pun is going on day trips across Wisconsin.. especially when thrift stores are involved. There are so many awesome destinations to check out, all within about an hour or two from where I live.
While I’ve already covered what I wear to go thrifting, this post is going to cover how I dress for both long distant thrift outings and day trips in general.
There’s a delicate balance of what to wear to sit in a car and to spend hours on your feet shopping. This outfit is my happy medium!
My maxi dress just grazes my ankles and is made for all weather conditions, is wrinkle resistant, and is fluent in German. The sneakers are practical for walking and help to keep my look casual.
And then we have my denim vest which is my favorite thing ever. Why? Because it’s where all the awesome-ness is! I like to switch up the pins I wear on it and this time Darling Distraction graciously gifted me all the ones you see here. Pins are great because unlike patches, you can add and remove them as you please plus you can put them on almost anything you can dream up.
I kind of played “Where’s Waldo” with my enamel pins (or “flair game”, for you cool kids) and tried them out in different places. First was my vest, next came my purse, and finally I put my “still ill” heart on my shoelaces. Enamel pins are seriously the most versatile accessory so it’s easy to see why they’re all the rage these days.
My final road trip essential is some long wearing lipstick. I’m not yet a ColourPop convert (hello, dry lips!) but for this color? I’ll deal with it.
What tricks do you use to travel while remaining fabulous? Dish about them in the comments!

Call me a horse because I love this post! Which is only funny if you’ve seen the meme so I’m really hoping you have!
Have you tried the Ultra Satin lipstick from colourpop? I haven’t, but I’ve heard it’s less drying.
