This outfit is cool, it’s ’90s, it’s… ALL THAT!
As much as my identity is tied to 1980s fashion, I feel like I have an appreciation for other decades. This skater skirt was begging to be styled for a ’90s themed outfit so here we are!
Finding the perfect skater skirt has been a longtime struggle for me. They’re either too short, too long, too flouncy, too too! So I feel like I lucked out thrifting this one last fall.
My favorite way to style a sweet skirt like this is to play with juxtaposition. This chunky pink sweater is also steeped in throwback vibes and adds a lot of visual interest to the look.
You could easily wear a cute tee with this skirt and call it a day but I chose to accessorize my look with some funky extras. These pastel mint colored tights from We Love Colors, a vintage beret, and a quirky daisy enamel pin all help to complete my vision of the perfect ’90s outfit.
Overall, this outfit reminds me so much of the tv show Blossom, which I think is fitting as we’re creepin’ up towards spring!
If you want more outfit inspiration for styling a sweater, keep an eye out for a guest post I’m doing next week. Until then, feel free to stalk my blog archive. There are plenty of ideas to be found there!

Fabulous – such a 90s vibe! At first I thought the tights were white and then as I scrolled down I saw the greener hints, and then read the colour at the bottom – what a gorgeous colour!
This is so cute! And I TOTALLY know what you mean about being “too TOO” with skater skirts. They’re hard to get just right!
