The way I see it, if you’re gonna thrift a Back To The Future costume, why not do it with some style?
I normally have terrible luck thrifting costumes as seen in every past Halloween post I’ve ever made. But for some reason, the thrift gods were on my side when I needed a last minute Back To The Future costume for a party this week.
Keep reading to find out what happened that proved it was my density to wear this outfit!
It all started when I came across these 25th anniversary edition Reebok sneakers. I had always dreamed of owning a pair but had no practical purpose for them. This party was my excuse to pay $19 on Poshmark to own a little piece of the past. (Even if they’re repros!)
Then I hit up Goodwill with floral pants in mind but then I found more than I bargained for. These pants were just chillin’ on the rack during a 50% off sale and then… my heart beat a little faster when I found a miniature hover board on a shelf for .50 cents. Of all times to find it, I thought there was something special about finding it when I was in search of this costume. It’s a great addition to my knick-knack shelf!
The other parts of my outfit – white button down and vest – are from my closet and just basic items you probably have sitting in your closet too. This is probably the easiest costume I’ve ever put together!
Once I put everything together and added my vintage pastel pink watch, I became Marty Mcfly’s girlfriend Jennifer Parker! I have Jennifer’s outfit but Marty’s hair. What a combo, huh?
In my head I’m the second version of Jennifer played by Elizabeth Shue because she also starred in the ’80s classic Advenures in Babysitting which is my all time favorite movie.
