I know what you wore last summer.. and it was cute! Instead of going out and buying a whole new wardrobe this season, why not remix some old pieces from your closet to create different looks?
I dug through The Outfit Repeater fashion archive (including unpublished looks) to give you a bunch of new ideas on how to wear your old clothes.
And if you need to add something fresh, I also included some shopping links to similar pieces that I’m wearing from each (mainly thrifted) outfit.
Water you waiting for? Let’s get inspired!

Short & Sweet
A cropped top and high rise denim shorts are my quintessential summer outfit! It shows just the bare minimum of skin to make you feel comfortable while still keeping you cool.

Wrap Star
A slightly more modest outfit is this cropped tee + shorts combo with a jacket wrapped around the waist. You never know when the weather might change so a jacket is both fashionable and functional!

Cropping Up Again
I’m sure the people who make the bottom halves of shirts are pretty mad at me. If I haven’t convinced you yet that crop tops are the bomb for summer, then nothing else will.

Connect The Dots
There’s something about summer that makes you feel adventurous both in the travel sense and with fashion. I like playing in my closet like with this double dotted look!

I Heart Colors
Another way to be adventurous with your style is to play with different color combinations. In 2014, I was totally obsessed with red + aqua. (Might have to bring that one out of retirement!)

Red, White, and Blue
The purpose behind this outfit was to wear denim shorts with a top other than a graphic tee. Any ol’ fancy top will do!

All Tied Up
Summer is normally a “less is more” kind of season but if you’re feeling shy about your body in, say, a bodycon dress, adding a light layer on top like this sleeveless button-up really helps out plus makes the outfit even more visually interesting.

Summer To The Max
A maxi skirt will go with just about anything in your closet but my favorite way is with a tank top + cover-up to maximize the potential to catch the breeze and get cooled off.

Wild Flowers
This outfit demonstrates how you can deviate from typical, bright summer colors while still dressing for the season. The playfulness of the pattern mixing keeps it looking fresh! Borrow from some of your lighter fall pieces to achieve a similar look.

Flower Power Shorts
Instead of ending with a bang, I’m ending with a basic outfit! This is nothing more than some patterned shorts (or your could do pants) with a solid colored top. Summer dressing doesn’t get any easier than that!
