If you love shopping secondhand online as much as I do then you’re in the right place.

I’m always scouring thrift stores and resale sites for items from my thrifting wishlist and ThredUp recently made an update that’s making it even easier for me to do that. So, naturally, I had a pretty great thrift month on there.

To back up, ThredUp is an online consignment store that carries women’s clothes, shoes, and accessories. I’ve been a customer for many years and consistently order from them.

I love them so much that I’m even a ThredUp partner so if you’re interested in trying it, use my link to get 45% off AND free shipping on your first order!

Now let’s take a look at what I found this spring on ThredUp!

    Comfy ThredUp Finds

ThredUp improved their search bar to make it easier to find what you want. Before, you had to use the categories and checkboxes to narrow down your search (which is still an option!) but even then your results weren’t complete.

I’m thrilled with this new update (still in Beta as of 4/24) and it’s already helped me hunt down a red hoodie, yellow hoodie, and a pink jumpsuit. All from my thrifting wishlist!

I recently started physical therapy again and searched for “soft overalls” and this pink pair popped up. I couldn’t believe my luck! And they’re just as comfortable as they look!

    Dressy Finds from ThredUp

I’ll be honest, as much as I love these next three finds, they were all cart add-ons so I could order the items above and get free shipping.

Despite that, I ended up being really happy with all of them!

They are a black blouse with polka dot sleeves, a simple black long sleeve dress, and this epic pink floral muumuu style mini dress. I can’t decide which one I love more! Tell me what you think!

    In Clothes-ing

So that’s how the new ThredUp search bar helped me have one of my best thrift hauls in a while. Have you used the new ThredUp search bar? What did you think?

Just a reminder that if you’d like to try thredUP for yourself, you can use my code and save 45% AND free shipping on your first purchase. I’ll get store credit in exchange (which I’ll use on a future thrift haul) so it’s a win-win for both of us!

  • Thrift Haul Confessions: What My Thrifting Habits Are Really Like

colorful September thrift haul hannah rupp the outfit repeater

    Thrift Haul Confessions

I haven’t published an official monthly thrift haul in years but I think this blog post comes pretty close! Today I’m spilling ALL the tea on what I thrift, where I thrift, and how much I actually spend every month.

I hope this helps you on your thrifting journey and inspires you to give thrifting a chance!

    Where I Thrift

I get asked a lot WHERE I thrift because I always seem to find “the good stuff” or pay next to nothing, which is unusual in most parts of the country. (Though I’ve thrifted in some major US cities and still managed to come out on top!)

For starters, I live in Wisconsin! I’m surrounded by small, rural towns and non-profit/volunteer-run thrift stores are everyyyyywhere, as well as trusty chains like Goodwill and Salvation Army. I think that makes a huge difference in the quality (ie: old stuff donated by lifelong hoarders) and the prices (volunteers don’t get paid so why not price everything at 25¢?!)

Another factor that’s unique to my situation is I am a low-income individual. I grew up in a lower-middle class family so we’ve always been very scrappy. We still don’t have a money tree so I make what little money I have go as far as possible! I frequently patronize community closets and clothing giveaways. If you’d like to learn more about that, I’ve written a post about how to find free stuff!

    What I Thrift

Now let’s talk about the fun stuff – what I thrifted this month! September was very good to me. I was able to visit quite a few stores, estate sales, and flea markets. Here’s the goods and some details on each one!

colorful September thrift haul hannah rupp the outfit repeater

Clothes are the biggest thrift category for me month after month. I really love fashion! However, I’ve gotten very selective in the last few years as my interest in sustainability has grown, as well as I’ve really come into my own personal style and want to curate a closet that reflects my personality & lifestyle!

All of the clothes I picked up this month are from free places. I don’t normally take in so much but because I was out more in search of a piece for a Halloween costume, my thrift radar was tuned in more than usual. I think what I got will get lots of love in my closet!

If you don’t know, now you know… I love magazines! I have a large collection of vintage magazines from the 1930s to today. My interest lies especially with teen and fashion magazines from the 1980s. Those are also the hardest to find so I grab whatever I can when I see it.

This entire photo was from a barn sale (does it get more Wisconsin than that?!) and cost me $20. That’s higher than I normally pay but the catalogs were $10 each and in very good condition. I know a good deal when I see one!

I’m not a big mug person and have trouble finding ones that I connect with. However, these two stood out on the shelves of the thrift store.

The smiley face one is part of a growing collection and was only 50¢, while the 8-ball was at a smaller shop and was $5. I happily paid up for it because I’ve never seen one like it before!

This collection of wrestling memorabilia is a little out of left field, even for me!

I’m a big fan of the Rock’n Wrestling collaboration that started in the 1980s, as well as old-school Wrestlemania. And I grew up watching Friday night WWF with my brother during the time that The Rock graced our TV screens.

So this collection is a bit nostalgic for me. I don’t think I’ll grow it much bigger. I need space for my fashion magazines! lol

colorful September thrift haul hannah rupp the outfit repeater

Lastly are a few 1980s music items – some vintage magazines and a Huey Lewis CD. These magazines are a bit closer to the ones I enjoy flipping through. And of course I love anything related to 1980s pop culture!

How Much I Actually Spend Thrifting Every Month

You’re probably scrolling through my haul trying to do some mental math and tally up how much I spent this month.

In the past for my thrift haul videos, I routinely spent no more than $40 a month. I think my budget is more or less the same these days but this month I did pay up for some unique pieces!

The total amount I spent this month is $56, give or take a few cents. (That does include a couple of things not pictured, like a butter dish. haha) All in all, not far off from my average!

    My Favorite Thrifting Tips

There’s a lot to take away from this post but if nothing else, you need to be consistent with how you shop. Visit stores more than once and go often! I walk out empty handed more often than not, but I continue to go back for the thrill of the hunt!

And also, shop at a variety of thrift stores. I know this isn’t always possible due to your living conditions, transportation, etc. But if you’re able to, I highly suggest you look up some thrift stores beyond your usual stops. You might be surprised by what you find!

  • What I Bought From thredUP vs. What It Actually Looks Like

    [su_note note_color=”#FFFFFF” text_color=”#000000″ radius=”9″ class=””]

This post contains items from thredUP that were bought with store credit in exchange for a social media post. It also contains affiliate links & I may receive a commission if you click or complete a purchase through them. All thoughts & opinions expressed are my own.

    [/su_note]

a white female with short curly brown hair is smiling in front of a pink background. she's wearing wearing and holding a stack of shipping boxes. What I Bought From thredUP

You can’t believe everything you see on the internet, like some of the clothes in this post that I bought from thredUP, for example.

thredUP is an online consignment store that carries women’s clothes, shoes, and accessories. I’ve been a customer for many years and consistently order from them.

I love them so much that I’ve become a thredUP partner so if you’re interested in trying it, use my link to get 40% off your first order!

My orders are always full of hits and misses but I’m ok with that uncertainty when it means that I’m able to order secondhand clothes from the comfort of home and try them on at my leisure.

Let’s check out some of the highs and lows of my most recent thredUP order!

What I Thrifted: Yellow Maxi Dress

I added this yellow maxi dress to my cart on a whim. I couldn’t tell if the texture would be cute or chaotic in person.

As you can see, my arms didn’t fit in the dress so the decision to send it back was made for me.

In my opinion, it was giving Big Bird vibes anyway!

What I Thrifted: A Red Tulle Dress

If I was dressing up as Beetlejuice’s Lydia Deetz for Halloween, this red tulle dress would be a great dupe for what she wore in the movie!

Unfortunately, I bought this dress with the intention of wearing it for the Christmas season and it was just odd. I didn’t realize the tulle was sewn on in a square shape which jutted out in all directions on my body. (Not to mention the slip was shorter and got shorter with every step I took!)

This red dress ended up being a red flag! Maybe it will look better on somebody else!

What I Thrifted: A Square Neck Floral Blouse

I was pleasantly surprised by this blouse and actually really love it. It was a last-minute addition to my cart to fulfill the minimum requirement to get free shipping.

It fits great and the colors blend in nicely with my existing wardrobe. That’s a win to me!

    What I Thrifted: A Graphic T-shirt

My entire order was based around buying this Clarissa Explains It All graphic t-shirt. I don’t think it had been on the website for more than an hour when I saw it pop up and immediately knew I needed to buy it!

I actually bought it to replace one I currently have that’s too small. I always wish I could wear the tiny one more but it just doesn’t work.

This new-to-me top from thredUP is awesome! And I was delighted with how soft it is. I’m so excited to wear it out and display my love for the Melissa Joan Hart-led TV show!

    Give Thrifting a Chance!

Overall, I’m okay with the outcome of this thrift haul! If everything fit, I’d probably have an overflowing closet, amirite?

As I mentioned earlier, you can use my code and save 40% on your first thredUP purchase. I’ll get store credit in exchange (which I’ll use on a future thrift haul) so it’s a win-win for both of us!

What do you think of my purchases this month? Be sure to Pin your favorite outfit and follow along for more fashion posts coming soon!

A thredUP Summer Thrift Haul | What I'm Keeping + Returning | www.theoutfitrepeater.comA thredUP Summer Thrift Haul

My 3 favorite words? Add to cart.

It’s been a while since my last thredUP thrift haul but I had an overflowing list of favorites and finally hit the BUY button on my cart.

As usual, there are some hits and misses. But that tends to happen when you’re buying secondhand clothes from the internet, right?

Let’s take a look at the good, the bad, and the WTF!

    Black Lace Kimono

I’ve had a black lace kimono on my thrifting wishlist for a couple of years now and finally found one in my price range.

This was a great fit and I love the way it looks with my tie-dye pants I just bought from Envy Bootique!

hannah is standing in front of a pink background. she's wearing a black cami, black lace kimono, black and white tie dye pants and black platform sandals.

    Flared Jeans

I’ve been looking at these flared jeans for months and figured it wouldn’t hurt to buy them + try them.

As it turns out, the measurements weren’t accurate (story of my life) and the rise was a couple of inches shorter than I need. The fit was actually pretty good otherwise. But I already have other jeans that ARE the right rise, so no need to keep something I’ll fuss with and never wear.

hannah is smiling in front of a pink background. she's wearing a blue boho blouse, high waisted flared denim, and brown platform shoes.

    Two Summer Hats

I don’t buy hats often but I normally love the way I look in them. (I wear a lot with my Maurices try-ons!) but these two just didn’t sit right with me, both literally and figuratively.

The patterned hat was fun but the brim swallowed my face. The straw hat was completely shapeless and floppy. I’d really prefer one with structure.

    So both hats got returned!

    Pink Striped Oversized Cardigan

I’m already thinking ahead to cardigan szn and could picture this one being a fun throw-and-go piece. What I didn’t anticipate was how oversized it would be.

It was NOT returnable to thredUP so I will be keeping it! I tried shrinking it in the wash but it didn’t budge. Of all things that have shrunk on me, why not this?! lol

hannah is smiling in front of a pink background. she's wearing a pink minnie mouse tee, oversized pink striped cardigan, high waisted jeans, and pink ballet flat shoes.

    Colorful Cover-Up

You literally can’t go wrong with a cover-up or kimono. They’re my favorite way to layer in the summer! This one was a big YES!

hannah is wearing a long colorful kimono, white jeans, and white platform sandals. she's smiling in front of a pink background.

    Longsleeve Layering Shirt

I’ve been hunting for second skin shirts for a long time and lucked out finding this green and pink tie-dye version. It’s exactly what I want for layering in the fall and winter!

hannah is giving a peace sign in front of a pink background. she's wearing a multicolor long sleeve shirt under a black slip dress, and black doc marten boots.

    Sheer Pink Polka Dot Blouse

My last haul item is this sheer pink polka dot blouse with puffed sleeves. I felt like taking a risk and that risk has paid off!

This is another piece that I’m dreaming up ways to layer with. If you have any outfit suggestions, please let me know!

hannah is smiling in front of a pink background. she's wearing a pink polka dotted blouse, silver pleated skirt, and silver high heels. she's holding a blue bejeweled clutch.

    In Clothes-ing

Overall, I would say this was a successful thrift haul! If you’d like to try thredUP for yourself, you can use my code and save 40% on your first purchase. I’ll get store credit in exchange (which I’ll use on a future thrift haul) so it’s a win-win for both of us!

  • Mini February Thrift Haul + Finding My UNICORN Thrift Item

    Mini February Thrift Haul

A thrift haul? Who is she?!

Don’t call this a comeback as it won’t be a regular occurrence but I had a recent thrift outing that was too good not to share.

I went into the day with little expectations as I’ve found less and less over the years. But this day the thrift gods smiled on me and helped me find one of my unicorn thrifting items – for free, no less!

Without further ado, let’s jump into the thrift finds and see how I styled them!

How I Styled My Thrift Finds

My thrift morning was a mix of off-brand stores, including a local community closet where clothes are provided for free to anyone who could use them.

I ended up finding this fabulous furry red jacket, black leather trench coat, and men’s cat print button-up at the community closet.

Then I found nothing at stop number 2. Just the thrift gods keeping me humble.

And at my third stop of the morning, I found a vintage magenta cropped cardigan, a long striped pink and white button-up, and the most fabulous 1980s cropped sweatshirt with the words “CAMP BEVERLY HILLS” on it. (Which I mistook for Troop Beverly Hills—no doubt both are amazing.)

    Thrifting My Unicorn Item

I’m a huge fan of having a thrifting wishlist and “manifesting” the items you want in your closet. All my patience has paid off because I found a Harvard University sweatshirt!

I’ve had my thrift friends all over the country helping me look for one for years. And I’ve contemplated dropping $40+ many times for one on the thrifting apps.

But on this day, the thrift gods hung it on the rack at the free community closet. In my size. Great condition. Dreams do come true!

    ///

Thanks for sharing in my thrift haul excitement! I’d love to know what one of your unicorn thrifting items is. I’m sending lots of good thrifting vibes that you find whatever it is!

Please be sure to add this post to Pinterest or share it with a friend for good thrifting luck. 🍀

  • What I Bought (And Returned!) To thredUP in October

Fall thredUP Thrift Haul | www.theoutfitrepeater.comFall thredUP Thrift Haul

I’m back with another thredUP thrift haul full of hits and misses!

It’s been a while since I shared my finds; mostly because I was buying one or two things at a time that just weren’t working and got sent back right away.

But for September/October my luck started to change and I found a bunch of things on the thredUP website + waited patiently for a big sale (pro tip: they host good ones monthly, usually on the weekends!).

My patience paid off and I got a few things I’m excited to wear. I also got a few things that didn’t fit quite right or I ended up not loving them in person.

    Let’s check out the finds!

    Yellow High Waisted Capris

These yellow capris were waiting on my wishlist all summer and I finally decided to just give them a chance.

There are a few pros: the yellow is the right shade, the waist is high enough for my long torso, and you can’t beat an elastic waistband.

But the cons outweighed the pros: too baggy (wrong size!) and the cut was not doing anything for me. I think I’ll stick with wide leg pants in the future!

    Red Jumpsuit

In theory, a red jumpsuit seems pretty rad. I stared at this one for a long time (sitting beside red Converse sneakers that got snatched up by someone else way too quickly).

Alas, as soon as I put it on, I couldn’t UNSEE myself wearing a prison jumpsuit. I think this has to do with the waist sitting low. If it was high waisted, it might be really fabulous!

But props to the jumpsuit for actually fitting. It’s always a gamble ordering a one piece item like this!

(P.S. these high heels were also purchased this month. Most comfortable pair ever! From the brand “Dream Pairs”. Living up to the name!)

    White Square Neck Blouse

I’ve had a few rounds with ordering flouncy white blouses online and they’re just not working out. I think this is an item I really need to source and try on in person.

This one might look ok in a photo, but in real life, the elastic sleeves were cutting into my arm at the fleshiest part and it was very tight in my bust.

    Yellow T-Shirt Dress

I had an Instagram closet sale this summer and ended up selling off my entire collection of yellow dresses. So now I’m trying to build it back up with cuts and colors that I truly adore!

I love the shade of this one and the idea that it’s a t-shirt style, but it hugged my body too closely. I’d rather it look casual and relaxed, not tight and fitted.

    Black Overalls

Speaking of casual and relaxed… these overalls!!!

Holy cow, they were a total wildcard item but I’m obsessed. Anything that can give a middle finger to the fashion police is a win in my book! Am I Amish? Do I have a body? Do I care that these don’t flatter any part of my figure?!

I think they’ll be awesome to wear in the summer, just add a t-shirt underneath or throw a denim jacket on top. Love love love them!

    Give Thrifting A Chance!

I’m already building another cart full of goodies from thredUP!

If you’ve never tried the secondhand website, new customers can sign up using my link and get 40% off your first order. Let me know what you ended up buying!

I teased in my last thrift haul post that April was unlucky for me but May would be better. It totally is! Only one item got sent back and I’m so excited about what I kept. (And the month isn’t even over yet!)

I think my bad luck with any online purchase really just comes down to the perils of online shopping in itself!

While I’m always very selective and carefully comb through the thredUP website, mistakes happen. You can’t always trust the sizing, or measurements, or feel the material in your hands. That’s when you end up with faulty purchases.

But the thrift gods were on my side in May and almost everything I bought was exactly what I was looking for.. and has already been worn a good handful of times – that’s saying a lot!

Check out what I bought below and how I styled it.

If you’re in the US and you’ve never used thredUP before, feel free to use my affiliate code to sign-up. I’ll get a $10 credit when you make your first purchase. (Which I’ll use to make more hauls like this with. haha) It’s a win-win!

    Home Alone Graphic T-shirt

Christmas came early! I actually bought my sister a Home Alone sweatshirt on thredUP for Christmas and felt a twinge of jealousy as I handed it over.

But now I’ve got my own Wet Bandits tee to wear during the holidays.. or right now. 🙂

hannah smiles mischievously while wearing a gray home along t-shirt, red cardigan, and blue pants

    Pink Raincoat

I finally found a pink raincoat after a close call with one in my February thredUP thrift haul! I knew if I was patient that the right one would come along.

This has all the features that I like – a hood, zipper, and pockets. Plus it’s generously sized so I can slip a hoodie or thick sweater underneath without feeling stuffed.

hannah's smiling and looking down in a polka dot dress and pink rain coat

    Lime Green T-shirt

Was a lime green t-shirt on my thrifting wishlist? Not at all. But it popped up in one of my searches and the brightness appealed to me. How great does it look with this rainbow cardigan? I thrifted that earlier this year for under $5 at a consignment store. They’re a great match!

hannah is smiling in a lime green t-shirt, rainbow cardigan, and blue jeans

    Yellow Raincoat

Two raincoats in one haul?! Spring weather is not gonna be able to handle all my cuteness!

I appreciate having a variety of colorful raincoats now to wear on dreary days. This one brightened up a recent doctor’s appointment I had. I love when my clothes can have a positive impact on others!

    April thredUP Thrift Haul

I forgot to write this post in April but rest assured these clothes were all bought secondhand from the thredUP website in the month of April! And spoiler alert: they all got returned.

But I had fun playing dress-up in them during our brief time together. Scroll on to find out what I loved and hated about each item!

    Blue Metallic Mini Dress

This blue metallic mini dress was a total impulse buy. (And by “impulse”, I mean it sat in my saved items for 6 months and I finally decided to give it a try.)

I looooove the color but I didn’t expect it to be so “mini”. It was also much clingier than expected. I intended to buy it for layering but it didn’t work with the pieces already existing in my closet.

It’d be great if I was the type of person who went out but alas, I spend my Friday nights in bed watching true crime murders.

    Sequin Skirt

A silver sequin midi length skirt has been on my thrifting wishlist for the longest time. I thought I finally lucked out but it turns out I was being catfished.

The picture on the left is how the skirt appeared online. Look silver, right? Turns out the under layer of the skirt was gray but the sequins were a bronze/brown shade. Big bummer!

    Purple High Low Tunic

I’m not sure how to classify this garment but “tunic” seems the closest. I was drawn in by the unique color (it’s been years since I’ve said anything but I’m still disturbed by the lack of purple clothes at the thrift store) and I have a few similar pieces from Maurices that I live in so I took a chance.

It wasn’t the worst, wasn’t the best. The fabric was really thin and I recall having a tee made from the same material and it absorbed liquids and left it stained so I was weary it would happen if I held on to this for too long.

    Gray Crushed Velvet Vintage-Inspired Dress

I think it’s time to swear off wrap dresses. 😞

This gray one looked so demure online, perfect for an upcoming gothic-themed wedding I’m attending. But when I got it, the skirt wouldn’t cover my thighs! What you see in the photo is what it covered, hence why I threw on some bike shorts.

I’m confused, too, because the top fit so nicely and the whole thing looks amazing on the mannequin. What went wrong?!

    Yellow Skater Skirt

This blog post may be delayed but I did share these finds last month in an Instagram video and this skirt got SO much attention!

The picture online looked like a bright, sunny yellow. In person, it was the same shade as a highlighter!!!😩 The top I styled it is about the only thing it matched from my closet.

Barely matching one item from my closet was not enough to sway me to keep it!

    In Clothes-ing

While this post was kind of a letdown, I have another one coming up that is SO much better!

    A thredUP Thrift Haul

If shopping on thredUP is wrong then I don’t want to be right!

I’m back this month with another thrift haul from thredUP. And if you don’t know, thredUP is the largest online consignment and thrift store. I’m a frequent shopper, as evidenced by my past blog posts, and have gotten into the habit of sharing what I buy from them every month.

Because everything is done online, I never know how things will actually look once I get them. So these hauls are my very real, honest thoughts about what I receive. The good, the bad, and the weird.

This month I kept about half of what I bought. Here’s a look! Let me know what you think!

    Neon Hoodie

A yellow zip-up hoodie is on my thrifting wishlist and I swear it’s more elusive than Bigfoot! So this isn’t the first time I’ve tried to find one of thredUP (I have a Saved Search for one in the app) but I didn’t love what I got.

It’s super neon, almost lime green. I had a feeling that might happen. I could also nitpick the fit but because I sent it back, I won’t. ☺

    Pink Skirt

I bought this skirt to replace an old one (it was polyester and I’m trying to phase that out of my closet) and I’m pretty happy with the purchase so far! It had new tags and the material is much more suited to every day. Plus, how great is this shade of pink with my skin tone?!

    White Keds Sneakers

I have a pair of white sneakers from Maurices, where I work, that I have worn to death. I love them but wanted something with more structure to support my feet. (Oh geez.. is that what old people say?!)

These white Keds sneakers popped up in my price range and looked pretty good, aside from some light wear. They’re exactly what I was looking for! Plus you can’t top $25!!

    Coral Pink Moto Jacket

I’m just gonna rip this off like a bandaid – this pink moto jacket got returned. 😥

It’s not the exact shade of pink that I want and the arms were comically short. (I do have long, lanky arms so I’m used to it.) I couldn’t tell if it was coral or bubblegum pink so I took a chance… and it was coral. Not the worst color on me, but it doesn’t match the color story I’m building in my closet so it wouldn’t get a lot of wear. I’m sure there’s someone out there who will love it more than me!

    Red Beret

I’m ending on a good note – this red beret! It’s a keeper!!!

I’ve had one on my thrifting wishlist and just when I was ready to throw in the towel and buy a cheap one from Amazon, this popped up on thredUP. Thank you, thrift gods!!

It’s literally everything I’ve ever wanted in a red beret and I’m so excited to have it in my closet!

  • Clothes I Bought From thredUP vs. What They Actually Look Like

    What I Bought From thredUP

Do you ever buy something online and it ends up looking different in person? It happens to me all the time! And as a secondhand shopper, it’s none more important to share the ups and downs of ordering a one-of-a-kind item only to find out it’s a dud.

I’m a thredUP partner so every month I get a little shopping credit. Even without the incentive, I’m a huge fan of the online consignment store and have bought and sold clothes on there for many years. Sometimes I really score and other times I’m disappointed.

I ordered 4 items this month and 3 got sent back. Let’s dive into what happened and get a little outfit inspiration!

    “The Cardigan”

If you follow me on TikTok, you might remember “The Cardigan” struggle I went through earlier in the month.

To summarize the debacle, I thought this cardigan was tan and bought it to replace a tan cardigan. It arrived and was actually pink but I didn’t need a pink cardigan because I have like 3. So do I keep it or not?!?!

Y’all jumped in the comments with so many creative ideas from upcycling it, to dying it, to holding on to it to see how I felt.

In the end, Goodwill of SCWI noticed something I had not – this “not tan” cardigan had POCKETS and my current pink cardigans did not! It was a no-brainer then to keep the new “not tan” cardigan. And I’ve already worn it quite a few times to lounge around in so I’d say it was a good call!

    Pink Raincoat

I wanted to love this raincoat. It was PINK, with pockets, a hood, a long length, and a zipper.. literally all my coat requirements.

But the more times I tried it on to test out around my house, the more I didn’t like it. The fabric was incredibly thin which wouldn’t help if there was cold rain (which most are). But what sealed its fate was the strange arm bands on the biceps. They’re a really tight elastic and seemed.. unnecessary?!

My mom suggested snipping the elastic out but we were both certain that would alter the shape of the arm and leave a strange outline.

In the end, I decided to send it back and let someone with smaller arms enjoy it.

    Pink Mini Dress

I’m sure by the headline “pink mini dress” you can already guess how I felt about this. I do NOT like mini clothes! But the measurement online made it seem appropriate so I gave it a go.

Aside from the short length, the wide silhouette didn’t seem very flattering on me. I felt like I was swimming in fabric!

But I will say the color is DIVINE and I think it works well on other people. My Instagram friend @staygoldengirl has it and looks adorable! Alas, it’s not for me.

    Pink Trousers

Now for the most disappointing buy of all…

At a glance, these pants fit my requirements – the right rise, inseam, and color.

After they arrived and I was pulling them out of the package, I immediately noticed dark gray streaks all over the hems. I didn’t remember any damage being noted in the description so I checked it and sure enough, they were described as “good condition, like new.”

Apparently, somebody didn’t inspect them close enough because I zoomed in closer in the photos and noticed the stains were visible online. (I never zoom in because I take thredUP’s word that something is in good condition. I’ll know better next time.)

I’m not quite sure what the stain was. It kind of looked like an ink transfer. But I didn’t want to mess with it and make it any worse. (I recently shared all my thrifted laundry disasters on my IG Stories. Needless to say, I don’t like “project” clothes.)

I also wasn’t impressed with the fit of the pants so it was no skin off my back to return them.

I have another thredUP order already on the way and keeping my fingers crossed that I love everything. But what will be the odds of that?! lol

Thank you for joining me for another thredUP thrift haul. Let me know in the comments what your favorite item was and how you would have styled it!
