No white pants were stained in the making of this outfit post.
The 1980s fashion trend is not actually new, despite the title of this post. I just gave it that name to match my wicked vintage NKOTB t-shirt!
But unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that the 1980s fashion trend is so hot in 2017! I have to think that some fashion big wig watched my YouTube channel and thought it was about time the ’80s come back. Hey, a girl can dream!
While I can’t take credit for the trend, I can rock the heck out of it. Plus if you keep scrolling, there are a few tips about incorporating the 1980s fashion trend into your wardrobe this season!
Put A Hat On It
Every decade has a hat and the ’80s really had a lot to choose from! My favorites are the pork pie style like I’m sporting in these photos, or a bowler hat is my second choice.
They scream cool and are great for a bad hair day (did those even exist in the ’80s?) and for showing your love to Debbie Gibson!
Shred It
My white Modcloth skinny jeans came pre-shredded so I feel like such a poser. But the idea here is to shred your clothes to make them edgy. Be it a t-shirt, jeans, or your radical acid washed denim jacket. Shred it!
Make Others Jelly
No outfit is complete without the perfect accessories! In my case, I went with some newly thrifted jelly bracelets that were all the rage back in the day.
It’s easy to incorporate bits of vintage into your style if you do it with accessories. Bangles, doorknocker earrings, or a beaded necklace can give you that perfect ’80s touch!
Now that you’ve read this post you have no excuse not to try the 1980s fashion trend!
