Cold temps are setting in so you better get used to seeing lots of outerwear on my blog. This is just one of the many tricks I plan to use to add flair to my looks!

No one could call a leopard print coat like this ordinary. But, still, when it gets worn day after day to fight off frost bite, it does get a little repetitive.
In the past, I’ve shook up my winter wear with lots of colors. This year, though, I’m trying out a new trick and that’s to add cool enamel pins to the lapel of my coat.
The ones I’m wearing here are from PinDropNYC and are totally on par with other flair I’ve tried out. You can’t go wrong with some cheeky pop culture references!
For this outfit, I chose to get dressed backwards which is a point I talked about in a post full of getting dressed tips.
What I mean by that is instead of picking out my outfit and then tossing on whatever coat was nearby, I made a conscious choice of what coat to wear first and then decorated it with these cool enamel pins.
From there, I was inspired to wear something fun and graphic underneath. This bow print top and striped skirt were just the outfit I had in mind! I probably wouldn’t have thought to pair these together if I hadn’t seen the pin arrangement first. It’s the little things, friends.
Sure I was cold but I also looked really freakin’ cute!
If any of my fellow fashion bloggers are interested, I did previously post few tips to help make the winter more manageable. I might add to it this year that taking a complete break from outfit posts is a really good idea. But I think I love getting dressed too much to actually commit! ?
As long as I have furry coats, pieces of flair, and hot chocolate; I should be able to survive this winter.
