My take on a thrifted summer fashion challenge inspired by the pages of People Style magazine.
I’ve always been heavily inspired by magazines so when Katie of Thrift Your Heart Out posted about a People Style fashion challenge she took part in, I was eager to participate, too.
The rules of the challenge are simple: recreate a trend from People Style using thrifted clothes. It’s basically already my life!
So in the July 2017 issue of People Style magazine (they got a new name!) I picked out the jean shorts trend. I thrifted a pair last summer and thought it’d be fun to try wearing them with something other than a graphic t-shirt.
This fashion challenge coincided with the fourth of July so I just rolled with it!
I decked myself out in my best red, white, and blue to observe the holiday. And of course sequins were included by way of my clutch. It’s, like, a law that you have to wear something shiny to celebrate things, right?
This off-the-shoulder top was just seen in an outfit post and in my June thrift haul and will appear in a thrifted look book on Friday so I hope you guys aren’t sick of it! I’ve just been mega inspired by other bloggers who rock this trend and can’t help myself.

So that’s my take on the #thriftstylewatch challenge! If you want to participate then pick up a copy of the mag, find a page that inspires you, and share a look using the hashtag on social media. (This isn’t a sponsored thing, it’s just for fun) I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
And if you’re not a social media person, then tell me in the comments what fashion trends you’ll be rocking IRL this summer!
