If you’re in search of a Valentine’s Day outfit idea, here’s one to make your heart flutter!
This may sound ridiculous but I’ve been saving this floral dress specifically for Valentine’s Day. I thrifted it last fall and insisted on waiting for it’s inaugural wear.
Maybe it’s a superstition thing but I think the first time you wear an item of clothing kind of sets it up for life. Like, I have certain t-shirts that I can’t imagine as anything but sleepwear, because that’s what I first wore them for. (Even though they’re definitely street clothes)
It’s weird but I just wanted to make sure this dress was connected with good vibes so I saved it until now!
What’s even weirder is I planned out this entire outfit last fall in my head. Everything about it is exactly what I wanted and looks so perfect to me!
Rather than default to all black accessories, I wanted to accent the light colored floral with dark red colors like these maroon tights and retro style bowler hat. Then I continued the sweet color story with neutral t-strap high heels and a matching cardigan.
I would also encourage you to reach outside your normal color comfort zone. Instead of sticking with your tried & true color palette, try something new. You never know what you might come up with!
This outfit is also special because I’m adding it to a link up hosted by Diversity Chic. DC is a group of fashion bloggers from Texas that I admire very much. Every month they tackle new trends and social issues, and this month they’re opening up their group to anyone with a blog!

Thank you so much for linking up with us!
Eeek Hannah I’m SO happy you linked up with us! Now you just need to come to Dallas and shoot with us one month 🙂 You look amazing, per usual. I love that this outfit is perfect for V Day but 100% fits your personal style too. Matching your tights with the bowler hat is PERFECT and somehow makes the gorgeous floral stand out even more. <3
Ahhh this outfit is so adorable!! Those t-strap shoes— I feel like you’re starring in a mid-century romantic comedy musical. Perfection.
Love the colored tights!
