Ready or not it’s time for another monthly thrift haul video where I’m gonna show you everything I thrifted in the month of February!

    February Monthly Thrift Haul

To be honest, I wasn’t all that ready for my thrift haul this month. February was short so I didn’t have as many days to thrift!

But I did gather up some secondhand stuff found at Goodwill, a comic book store in Chicago, and even from my PO Box. Watch below to enjoy all the vintage-y goodness!

    March Thrifting Wishlist

Finding those overalls from my thrifting wishlist this month was very encouraging to me. Here’s hoping lightning strikes twice and I can find some of these items in March!

    • Light colored floral dress – A girl can never own too much floral, right? With Easter coming up, I thought I’d try my hand at thrifting a light colored floral dress.

    • White nightstand table – My current nightstand is essentially a t.v. tray so I want to change that ASAP! Plus, I need plenty of storage for all the books I keep by my bed.

    • Gray Members Only jacket – I wanted this before Steve Harrington on Stranger Things made it cool. Pinky swear!

My February thrifting wishlist is mostly a bunch of clothes. What can I say? I’m clothes minded! 😂

    • Leopard print skirt. I already have one that I want to wear a lot but don’t. I think it’s because of the length so I want to find an even greater one suited to my style! (See my current skirt here.)
    • Rainbow striped sweater. Going with the colorful theme of this months thrift haul, I want to continue to thrift color and what could be better than a rainbow striped sweater? Plus they’re filling up my fashion inspiration board on Pinterest so I need one stat!
    • Crossbody laptop bag. I was fortunate to get a new laptop last fall but unfortunately it’s bigger than my old one and doesn’t fit in my cute laptop bag. So I’ve been low key searching for a replacement at the thrift store but haven’t had much luck. I’m putting it out there so now maybe I’ll find one!

  • My Thrifting Fashion Goals for The Year

the outfit repeater hannah rupp fashion resolutions 2018 thrifting style goals new year

This is how I’m using thrift stores to increase my style in 2018!

    New Year, New Me

I promised in my last thrift haul video of the year that I would forgo my usual thrifting wishlist for the month (just this one time!) and instead highlight where I’m hoping to take my style in 2018 with the help of thrift stores. I will always choose thrifting over retail as it gives me a chance to be more creative and try new trends that I might not have before.

Better yet, my friend Nicole of Write Like a Girl picks a word of the year to help her focus on what she wants both in her life and in her closet. I want to do that too!

So last year I was all about color and I’d love to continue that but elevate it slightly. My word this year would be “lively.” I feel invigorated again after a less-than-stellar year and I want my clothes to reflect how I feel on the inside.

Let’s check out what that will look like!

    Make a Statement

I’ve built a great wardrobe full of basics and think I know my style well enough to take more risks every now and then. Statement pieces like cool jackets, colorful jeans, and patterned dresses are just the thing I’m looking to incorporate.

    Putting On The Glitz

The last few years I’ve been caught in a jam when I needed something fancy to wear to weddings. I want to remedy this by stockpiling dressier pieces in my closet for when I could really use them.

    Out of Season

Going along with the previous goal, I want to thrift more out of season. For the most part I thrift whatever my heart desires (and is on my thrifting wishlist) but I always strive to plan ahead and be better prepared in my life.. starting with my clothes!

    Flair Forever

I think I’ve been saying for more than 5 years that I want to learn how to properly accent my outfits using jewelry and accessories. While I’ve accumulated quite a bit and have made small steps toward getting there, I think it’s time I try to thrift pieces that I’ll actually wear and then, you know, wear them!

    Make a Fashion Moodboard

As a visual person, using a style notebook full out outfit inspiration has really changed my life. You can learn more about creating and using a fashion moodboard in this post.

    Make a Thrifting Wishlist

You can choose to craft a tangible mood board, use Pinterest to make a thrifting wishlist, or both like me! This is great for keeping you on track when you feel overwhelmed at a thrift store. Just check out your list and let it direct you!

    Go Thrifting!

Take a walk around your favorite thrift store and look at what they sell and imagine how you might be able to incorporate it into your style. If you can’t stop thinking of a certain item and can envision it being worn at least 3 ways with your current closet, consider buying it! The thrift gods work in mysterious ways and presenting you with something you never knew you needed is one of them!

Now that you’ve looked through my style goals and learned how to make your own, think about what your style word of the year would be and then share it with me on my Facebook page!

It’s pretty cool what less than $8 can buy you at a thrift store!

I’m already thinking ahead to next month and know it will be even more important to save my dollars to spend on family & friends gifts so a thrifting wishlist is a MUST to keep me on track! Here’s just a few things I’ll be keeping an eye out for myself.

    • Yellow beret. It’d be very, very nice to find a yellow beret for my hat collection.
    • White (faux) leather jacket. My previously thrifted black leather jacket & white denim jacket are in heavy rotation so why not find one jacket that’s the best of both worlds?!
    • Purple-ish winter hat with pompom. In an effort to add color to my winter wear, a brightly colored hat with pom-pom is high on my list to thrift!

Thank you for thrifting another month with me! Please be sure to Pin this post or share it with your friends for good internet karma.
