This outfit is proof that there’s nothing a leopard print coat can’t match and that purple really is my color.
I used the beautiful weather this weekend to flirt with some spring trends like ’70s fashion and the ever popular pastels and florals.
What made this outfit most exciting was the addition of these round sunglasses I purchased on girlsprops.com. I’ve spent years of pining over accessories from Girlprops, starting way back in my early days of reading Seventeen magazine in 2004. I wish I could say they didn’t disappoint but I was definitely confused with my order.
These sunglasses were among a handful of items I bought in a .99 cent clearance sale (active until Feb. 29th). After attempting my order three times, it finally went through. The entire process was so vague and mysterious. My money was taken right away (isn’t that always the case?) but I waited a few days for my confirmation and about a week and a half for my order to be delivered.
The shipping and quality of the accessories was better than I expected but some pieces were missing and I was told I wouldn’t be charged for them.. but the money had already been taken? In any case, it’s getting sorted out. I guess you just live and learn when making orders online!
Thankfully, the rest of this outfit was a sure thing. Most of it was acquired secondhand so there was no messy order to deal with. (Except for the leopard print coat which you can read about here.)
The only thing that made this outfit better was knowing I accidentally channeled my inner Mrs. Slocombe from the 1970s BBC One show Are You Being Served? I’m not even mad because let’s be real, she’s a flawless dame and her cotton candy colored hair is to die for!
Thrifted blouse, dress and tights, about $8 total
Leopard print coat from Poshmark, $25 (Shop my closet here)
Outlet Store flats, $10
Round Girlprops sunglasses, .99 cents
Kate For Rimmel London lipstick in “Bordeaux”
Sally Hansen floral nail stickers
I have to agree. Purple is definitely your color. I fully expect you to be still rocking it in 50 years like Mrs. Slocombe.

I love everything about this outfit!!! And your hair is AMAZING!
Um, girl you look amazing!
The purple of your tights and purple/lilac of your tights go so well with the leopard – as well as working brilliantly with each other. And I love the glasses! Kx PS. I hear ‘Are you Being Served’ is coming back soon with a new cast – perhaps you should audition!
OMG, the Mrs. Slocombe visual reference here made my day!
