A Patterned Summer Dress Styled Two Ways w/ Eccentric Owl

There’s an unspoken rule that if two or more friends own a similar article of clothing that they must wear them at the same time. Who am I to break a rule like that?

My friend in question is Kristina of Eccentric Owl and the article of clothing are some very similar boho style dresses. Both feature a similar gray/blue pattern and are made for warm breezes and summer days.

So if you’ve got a dress like this, too, then get ready for a double dose of outfit inspiration from the both of us!

This is how my outfit came together! Since “bohemian” is not a style I naturally lean towards, I wanted to challenge myself to add some edge to this dress.

I achieved that by belting it to give it shape and adding a cropped denim vest (which you might recognize from my previous thrift haul video) over the top. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but denim is perfect at taking something dressy and making it casual. It worked perfectly with this outfit and took it from being ordinary to something special!

A scarf may not work with everyones weather but it turned out all right for me. This outfit works fine without it but I like the bit of visual interest it adds. I’ll jump at any chance to do some pattern mixing, no matter how small.

I hope you dig this outfit as much as me and that this post encourages you try something that you might not ordinarily think matches your personal style.
