What I Wear as a Social Media Manager
It’s been a while since my last outfit dump of outfits I wore to Maurices as their social media manager.
As I mentioned in that post, my role in the store is pretty sporadic. I usually stop in once a week to take photos and the rest of my work is done at home with a phone or computer in my lap.
The outfits in this post are obviously from when I’m in the store. (Unless you want to see me in PJs and sweats working from home?!)
I love having a hybrid job that gives me an excuse to get dressed to leave the house and then I literally get to PLAY with clothes as my job. (And write copy, create social media strategies, analyze stats, attend meetings, etc..)
Almost everything I’m wearing in this post is Maurices clothing that I wore as part of social media posts. My go-to-work outfits were kind of boring.
If you have questions about any of the pieces or need a link/style number, please feel free to leave me a comment or DM me!
Also, if you’d like to see these outfits (and more) in real time, follow me on Instagram and keep an eye on my Stories! I don’t follow a set schedule so you never know when I’ll be sharing what I wear!
Living For Leggings
A perk of working for a clothing store is we get early access to styles and next season’s trends. We’re also encouraged to try everything on so we can access the fit and communicate that with customers to help them on their fashion journey.
All that to say, these leggings are one of Maurices newest creations and we were all in aww of the fit. They’re a ribbed style of legging with a very high rise (VERY) and seaming endless stretch. So far they come in a few colors but I can see these being a staple for many people in the years to come!
Denim Season
Denim season in the fashion world usually starts in August, but styles start hitting stores in June and July. But then again, is denim ever really out of style?!
I’m wearing a classic pair of m jeans with a slim boot, which means there’s just enough room at the bottom to flare over a boot. It’s like a flare for people who hate flared jeans.
2 Ways To Wear A Kimono
These kimono outfits from July are feeling a little dated as we’re nearing fall but I think you can still appreciate the importance that a kimono has in transforming an outfit.
A kimono can be dressy, and casual, and could even be worn right now as a transitional piece for summer to fall on those warmer days.
Writing Off Into The Sunset
This is the only outfit in this entire post that is actually something I wore from home to do work. It was a low-energy day so I went with an easy dress and kimono combo. Everything is thrifted except the white Lulu’s sandals.
Fall Fashion With Flare
Again with the flared jeans! It’s funny because I only own one pair, personally, but I wear a different pair from the store almost every time I’m there!
This outfit was part of a lookbook demonstrating how to make an outfit awesome. I started with jeans + a nice blouse, added a faux leather jacket, stacked booties, and a trendy hat. It’s a simple way to elevate your jeans + blouses this season.
Checks and Plaids
How many times have you passed a mannequin at a mall and wanted to recreate the entire outfit? With my job, I actually get to do that!
My co-worker and I each picked a mannequin in the store and then pulled everything we needed from the sales floor. I went with this plaid skirt suit and a new Edgley tank top. I think it’s so cool to see an outfit come to life like this!
Sweater Weather
I wore this as part of an outfit challenge where we were instructed to style some new arrivals. I’d argue that nothing says fall quite like a cozy sweater!
The Perfect Tan
Sometimes I get to borrow clothes home from the store to use in projects at home. I had a vision of this outfit being worn for “street style”-eqsue shots and think they turned out pretty awesome!
Double Double Toil and Trouble
These new Limitless jeggings are another way that Maurices is disrupting the denim market. They’re high rise and a single pair can span 3 different numerical sizes. It’s like Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants in real life.
My co-worker and I decided to run with that idea and do a full twinning moment. How adorable are these pumpkin fair isle sweaters?!
Date Night Done Right
The inspiration for this outfit came directly from our latest mailer (kind of like a seasonal catalog/lookbook that customers receive in the mail). It’s not unusual at all for our customers to come in and ask for an outfit, piece-for-piece, that they saw in the mailer. So I figured why not do it myself?!
I love this for a date night look! I took a poll on my Instagram and a lot of you actually thought it’d be better for work. That’s a great idea too!
