The kimono robe trend isn’t going anywhere so I might as well try it, right?
I’m actually well versed in wearing kimonos and similar cover-ups (like this pink one!) but I’ve shied away from wearing a full-on lingerie version like the one in this outfit post.
My image is pretty squeaky clean so what will people think if they see me wearing underwear as outerwear? I’m taking that risk today! Here’s how I did it…
I was excited when I first thrifted this kimono robe but then slowly pushed it to the back of my closet because I thought it was too colorful. Funny how the colors are the exact reason I pulled it back out and gave it a second chance!
My vision with this outfit was to go big or go home. I went big! All the colors, all the accessories.
I used the matching belt of the kimono as a headband which is such a brilliant tip! When in doubt about matching things, just use the belt that comes attached (dresses and jackets are notorious for these extras). The length of ribbon can be used in your hair, around your waist, tied to your purse… see where I’m going with this?
The final step was to add these super fabulous platform shoes that ThredUp totally delivered on. I’m not messing around when I go big! These bad boys add about 5 extra inches to my height. So what if I can only wear these shoes for an hour at a time? At least I look really good in that one hour, right?!
Have you jumped on the kimono robe trend or are you hoping it goes away soon? Tell me how you really feel in the comments!

Love the Colors!
You look PERFECT! It’s so funny that you say the colors put you off, because you’re generally so colorful! But I totally do that too, sometimes the colorful-ness of an item is just not quite my own brand of colorful. I think my favorite part of this outfit is those HEELS. Those are glorious!
Hi Hannah, I am Ada. So glad I found your blog. Love your name first of all and I love the name of your blog too – keeping it real. Your kimono is so pretty and such a lovely floral, love that it matches your headband. Great denim skirt, too. =)
I Welcome you to stop by my blog as well. Also, I host a linkup on Thursdays, so come linkup with me. The new is live below, linked =) Thank you!

Hi, Hannah, I came across your blog and I love it! This is going to be a very random question, but what is the brand of the kimono if there’s still a tag? My Mom had the same one when I was a kid and I wanted to try and find one on eBay.
