Yes, I look like a giant carrot but I don’t even mind because I thrifted shoes and nothing can take that satisfaction away from me!
If you haven’t watched my newest thrift haul video then I’ll leave the link here and give you a minute to catch up….
It was awesome, right? I already couldn’t wait to wear the pink striped shirt that I thrifted (it somehow got forgotten in the video so I’ll add it to next month’s!) and today I came up with an outfit for one of the two pairs of shoes I picked up. I’m still not sure what to do with the reject ones but I’ll leave that as a problem for my future self to solve!
I’ve only recently started the search for a pair of “sensible” everyday high heels and, to my surprise, I found nearly the perfect pair thrifting this month. (Check out my Pinterest for the rest of my thrifting wishlist) My size 11 feet are forever thankful for those who donate their discarded footwear. I’ll be sure to donate an unwanted pair of my own this month so someone else with big feet can get the same joy!
Thrifted shoes can get a pretty bad rep because of how much use they get compared to other articles of clothing. I, too, was once uneasy about wearing somebody else’s shoes but thankfully I’ve gotten over it. Here are a few of my favorite tips to help you out:
- Choose shoes that seem to be in like-new condition. High heels are a good bet because think of how often you wear them. Probably only for special occasions, right?
- Give your new-to-you shoes a good cleaning. Depending on their fabric, they might need a special cleaner, good ol’ soap and water, or just a disinfecting wipe.
- For those who are die-hard about they DIY projects, why not reline the sole with a sticky back fabric? Strategically trace the inside of your shoe and cut out a lining to fit inside. Think of it like changing the sanitary liner of a swimsuit.
- If you’re forever grossed out about what could be lurking inside your shoe, just choose to only ever wear them with socks or tights. Done!
When I found these beauties, I totally may have acted like one of the GIFs from my last blog post about serious thrifters. How could I not? It’s just so cool to be able to check something off your thrifting wish list!
Is there anything you’re searching for at the thrift store that you’re having no luck with? Or have you recently found your dream item while thrifting? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

I love thrifted shoes so much! I don’t get why people are grossed out about that, if you buy the right pair and clean them, they’re ready to go and just as awesome as brand new shoes!
That is an absolutely adorable fox bag! And cute shoes too. Congrats on such a cool find! 🙂
I am so jealous of your thrifting skills. I seriously need to step up my gaaaaaaame. Also everything you’re wearing is adorable. Your hair is adorable. You’re adorable, the end.
No joke, my fave pair of shoes right now I found in the bin at my apartment. They are converse and one shoe is red and one shoe is blue.
Every color in the outfit pops. Really diggin’ that hair color on you! Super cute bag! <3
