This is just your garden variety outfit!
Who’s to say what a wallflower should look like? I really identify as one and not just because I wear floral and stand in front of pretty pink garages. It’s just in my nature to go unnoticed in public whether I intend to or not.
But I’ve come to find this is not such a bad thing and today I’m going to tell you about the perks of dressing like a wallflower. (AKA a simple outfit!)
#1. The people in my life have come to know me as a stylish person so even when I dress down in something like this, they still think I look put together. (Thank you!!!)
#2. Wearing basic pieces gives me an opportunity to wear cute accessories without standing out too much. Only in this outfit would seafoam green sunglasses and a daisy enamel pin be considered low key!
#3. An outfit like this makes it so I balance on the edge of standing out (floral romper!) and fitting in (regular denim jacket) and that’s kind of fun. Depending on how I carry myself, I can go by unnoticed in a crowded or awkward situation. Winning!
I definitely don’t dress to blend in everyday but when I do I’m actually OK with it! Sometimes you just need a simple outfit to get you through the day or whatever season life is throwing your way.
What perks have you found that come with wearing a casual outfit? Let me know in the comments!
Thrifted floral romper and jacket, $7 total (shop similar romper, shop similar jacket)
Gifted sunglasses/pin, (shop similar sunglasses, shop similar pin)
Colourpop lippie stix in Heart On, (shop exact lip color)
White Lulu*s sandals, $17 (shop exact sandals)
I think you nailed it when you said sometimes you just need a simple outfit to get through the day!
I’m new to your blog, insta, and you tube feeds and loving them all! I, like you, have lost a lot of weight in the past two years and as I did, became a thrift-fanatic (I think you were a thrifter pre-weight loss, though!). Keep up the great work!
I actually love the sunglasses the most with this outfit. super retro-modern LOL
