I hope you’re not sick of seeing leopard print on my blog because I’m not sick of wearing it yet! Keep scrolling to see two ways I’ve styled the same top but with a very different outcome.
The leopard print top I used in both of these outfits was picked up during a quick trip through the thrift store. It was only after I got home when I realized it has the sweetest little Peter Pan collar. I feel like I really lucked out with this piece!
For my first outfit, I played up with the prim & proper feeling of the collar and wore one of the most basic black dresses I have in my closet. Contrary to popular belief, I do own solid clothing!
The whole thing was just begging to be accessorised with these burgundy tights and black extras. It just wouldn’t be a real outfit unless I was wearing my pork pie hat, amirite?
I got creative with my second outfit for a day of thrifting.
Taking a nod from the previous look, I put on these burgundy jeggings. They were perfect for moving around and finding treasures. I very nearly threw on a black cardigan because I felt like I already had too much color competing between my hair and the pants. THANK GOD I DIDN’T LISTEN TO THAT VOICE!
In the end, I reached for this mustard cardigan and I can honestly tell you that I’ve never had an outfit get more compliments in my life. Best decision ever! One older guy even went out of his way to tell me how great all the colors looked together, my hair included! (Though it doesn’t surprise me that he liked my hair. Story of my short-lived-purple-hair life.)
So these were just two of the many ways I’ve been wearing this leopard print blouse. While I have chose to wear it with lots of colors, it should be noted that it would look smashing with regular ol’ jeans and other quiet colors. Fashion magazines don’t call it a neutral for nothing!
Next up on my outfit to-do list: mix leopard print with another pattern. But that’s an outfit post for another day…
