Custom Christmas Dress From eShakti: Hit or Miss?

Custom Christmas Dress From eShakti: Hit or Miss?

Dress in this post was provided by eShakti in exchange for my thoughts. All opinions are 100% my own.

I have a longstanding relationship with the custom dress company eShakti that started back in my very early blogging days. No two orders have ever been quite the same and this dress is no exception. Let’s just say it left me feeling the color of this dress!

Read on for my review of this lovely blue velvet number.

Who is eShakti?

eShakti is an online retailer that specializes in custom clothes for a really good deal. What keeps me working with them time after time is the way they can tailor clothes like nobodies business, their selection is outstanding, and I know that I’ll always get something unique that no one else will have.

Cat’s Out Of The Bag

While eShakti regularly offers me free clothes in exchange for reviews, I have paid for my own clothes from their website because I believe in them so much. That’s the sign of a good sponsor!

But last year we worked out a holiday post similar to this and the deal completely fell through. I spent months trying to contact them with no luck and it really left a bad taste in my mouth. Good customer service is very important to me and they really let me down.

Fast forward to a couple months ago and they offered me a custom piece. I thought it would be a great way to make peace and I’ve been dying to try their custom jean option. I picked out a pair of jeans with cat patches on the knees and then had my mom assist me in measuring for the pants which took about 30 minutes to get all the numbers correct. After submitting my order and waiting patiently, the pants showed up in a few weeks and fit horrendously. Despite ordering something to fit my size 10 waist, the pants were barely pushing a size 6 and instead of full length, they were nearly capris.

I hesitated to say something – really expecting silence again – but reluctantly I did and was surprised by a fast response! My contact was very apologetic and even offered another free item to make up for it.

Smooth Over The Situation In Blue Velvet

My replacement piece is this beautiful blue velvet trapeze dress. I was really drawn to the color and thought it would be a killer holiday dress!

Once again, I tweaked the options from their standard dress style and wanted something above the knee. I figured it would be a simple change! After waiting a couple more weeks, my new dress showed up and I immediately tried it on. It looked just as stunning as from the website but the length turned out to be below my knee. I was hoping it would match the hem line of this leopard print jacket but it missed it by a few inches.

I don’t have my perfect dress but it’s still really pretty!

Final Thoughts

So is this order a hit or miss? I’ll give it a hit despite the length issue. I’d rather it be too long than too short! Plus the twirl factor + pockets on this dress can’t be beat.

This is normally the part of the post where I might give you some tips from ordering on eShakti to get a perfect order but I honestly am not sure what that would be at this point. Just check every number very carefully and don’t be afraid to reach out for support!
