This outfit is a far cry from my polka dot dress and cardigan I was originally planning to wear on my birthday. But I woke up last Friday, watched a Cyndi Lauper music video, and suddenly knew what to wear.
I’ve always kept a little Cyndi Lauper quote in the back of my head since I was a young kid and it had to do with her ever changing style. Every time she wore something, people would copy her, and all she wanted to do was be original so she constantly had to out-crazy herself, so to speak.
Whether I’m getting dressed or working on something creative, I always think of what my stamp is I can put on it to make it my own. That’s even more so important on the internets where copying can be just too easy!
So in conclusion, I broke out my tackiest 80’s blazer and faced my day in my birthday suit because why not?

I don’t think I have ever seen someone look this good in a 1980’s blazer. You WOULD look this good in 80’s fashion, though, because somehow you just make it work. And secretly, I kind of love the BIGness of the 80’s. Ugh, I need to go thrifting and get more fantastically crazy garments.
This outfit is so on point! I’m basically in love with this whole thing. It makes me think of Karl Lagerfeld!
