90’s Trivia and Drag Queen Show
This weekend I partied like it was 1999!
My favorite local drag queens hosted a ’90s-themed trivia night and I dressed the part in some of my best thrifted duds. Trivia night never looked so fierce!
It was a true challenge for me as I went alone and was among a sea of tables full of teams competing for prizes.
Despite the odds, I did end up winning after all! I didn’t win for my brains but I did win for best dressed. The queens had a few of us participate in a fashion show to determine who brought their best 90s outfit game and they unanimously decided on me. I won a crown and everything – it felt like a Miss America moment!
So what did I wear when I won? Let’s break it down!
What I Wore To 90’s Drag Queen Trivia
I started planning my outfit a few weeks in advance (is anyone surprised?) and knew I want to style it around my Doc Martens. I ended up being the only one wearing a pair so I think that helped me stand out in the contest.
From there I wanted a floral dress but didn’t currently have one in my closet. I did some thrifting and lucked out on my second or third outing and found this “vintage” Old Navy dress at a community closet. It’s actually from 2003, but close enough, right?

? WHAT I’M WEARING ?
Thrifted dress, jacket, and plaid, free | Thrifted fanny pack, $1 | Old Target boots, $20 | Vintage/Thrifted pins | Old Girl Props choker
My denim jacket was really the pièce de résistance. I own many denim jackets but decided on this distressed one (not vintage) because it matched the grunge vibe I was going for.
My pin collection is HUGE so I had fun carefully selecting which ones fit the theme of ’90s fashion. What do we think?!
And finally, my accessories are a classic stretch choker identical to the ones we wore in the ’90s. And my fanny pack was found the day of at a garage sale – I actually own the exact same one and planned to wear it but the zippers are all broken. I couldn’t believe my luck finding the exact same one right when I needed it most!
A Recap of 90s Drag Trivia
This was the first time our local drag queens have hosted a trivia night (usually they host drag bingo!) but I think they did a great job. It was a rowdy crowd because of the bar atmosphere but they held their own and put on some fabulous performances.
When you combine 90s fashion, drag queens, and trivia, you know it’s going to be a good time.

Congrats on the win, Hannah! Before I saw the closeup shot of the pins, I was thinking bringing a Babysitters Club book would be a perfect accessory. You knocked the themed outfit out of the park!
