I may be single but that doesn’t stop me from putting on a date outfit and having a final fling with summer!
I’ve got a problem with people who save stuff for ‘one days’ and ‘special occasions.’ I’ve touched on it here before so I won’t get too heated about it in this post.
One of those things I was thinking about was fancy clothes reserved for date nights. Dates are still a foreign concept to me but I wondered what would happen if I put on cute clothes and then DIDN’T go out on a date. Turns out, the world kept spinning and nothing bad happened.
I played matchmaker in my closet and put together this black & white striped dress along with these red kitten heels. Both were newly thrifted this summer and both had the perfect vintage flair I was looking for.
The juxtaposition between my purple hair and the sweet look was kind of jarring. So I added some extra pieces to edge it up. A moto jacket, bandana, and an old belt that reminds me of fire were just the thing.
I don’t know about you but I would swipe right on this outfit!
While I wore this about a month ago during the truly final fling with summer, a retro look like this can be adapted for cool temps without a problem. Some tights, a thick jacket, and a non-strapless dress should get the job done.
So why not put on your best digs and take yourself out somewhere nice?
Dress – .50 cents (thrifted)
Belt – .25 cents (thrifted)
Red kitten heels – .79 cents (thrifted)
Jacket – gift
Red lipstick – Really Red by Revlon
Love it! My mom is one of those people who will wear fancy outfits for everyday tasks and I admire her for that…I’m unfortunately one of those people who saves outfits for “special occasions”…*insert shame face*

I adore this outfit! Also your hair looks awesome with a bandana! I’m definitely not ones to save items for special occasions – I always tend to be the one overdressed for things but I am perfectly fine with that!

This look is gorgeous! I love the contrast of the bandana and moto jacket with the sweet dress and heels. Very West Side Story (the bad-ass chicas, not Maria)
That dress is perfect. <3 Love your smile! =]

What an adorable date night outfit! I may not be single anymore, but I still go on “Laura dates” all the time – you still need that you time! Also, those shoes are AMAZING. Seventy-nine cents?! Girl, you are a thrifting goddess!
